The House of Sports Learn To Play program has a variety of classes that are designed to motivate children to develop athletic skills and fitness while introducing them to core concepts. Using a game based curriculum, kids will expend a tremendous amount of energy while having fun in a non-competitive, stress free environment. Classes are offered for children from age 3 to age 5. Beginner Class - 45 minutes
Intermediate Class - 45 minutes
League Class - 1 hour
3 year olds (Beginner): A variety of fun games to develop motor and listening skills. Children may begin to play independently, but parents are encouraged to assist as needed. Children typically work on shooting on a 2 - 4 foot hoop.
4 year olds (Beginner): Continued focus is placed on motor skills and fundamental skills of the sport. Recommended for novice/first-time players who are looking to progress to an intermediate or league level class. Children typically work on shooting on a 4 foot hoop.
4 & 5 year olds (Intermediate): Children build upon the fundamentals and begin to learn about the rules and strategy involved in the sport. Small sided game play is introduced. Children typically work on shooting on a 4-6 foot hoop.
Kindergarten (Intermediate): Each class will include a skills and drills component followed by small group work. Small sided game play is introduced. Children typically work on shooting on a 6 foot hoop.
K-2nd Grade (League): Each class will include a skills and drills component followed by small group work and approximately 25 minutes of game play. Children typically work on shooting on an 8 foot hoop.
