Girls Box Lacrosse Winter League 

 
The House of Sports will be running a 10 week Winter League beginning the week of December 3rd through the week of February 25th.

There will be four different divisions: a 3rd/4th grade division, a 5th/6th grade division, a 7th/8th grade division, and a High School division. The 3rd-6th grade divisions will play on a 22x40 yard field, the 7th/8th grade division will play on a 60x40 yard field and the High School Division will be playing a full field (80x40). 
The seedings for the final week will be based on each teams record. The top two teams in each division will be playing for the championship and all other teams will play a consolation game. Winners of the championship game will be awarded t-shirts

**$200 deposit is due at registration

Winter League Rules 

3rd/4th Grade Rules

  • Two 20 minute halves with a 3-4 minute halftime
  • Games will be played on a 22x40 yard field
  • All games are 5v5 (4 field players and a goalie)
  • No timeouts
  • No out of bounds, we will play off the walls
  • No offsides, all 4 field players can go anywhere on the field
  • A pass rule will be put into effect if a team is winning by 10 goals
  • Following goals, the goalie will clear the ball into play
  • Draws will only take place at the beginning of each half
  • Games can end in a tie
  • Fouls: Player who receives a yellow card has to get off the field and stay off for 1 minute. A new player will come onto the field.
  • No checking. There will be a 3 second rule

5th/6th Grade Rules

  • Two 25 minute halves with a 3-4 minute halftime
  • Games will be played on a 22x40 yard field
  • All games are 5v5 (4 field players and a goalie)
  • No timeouts
  • No out of bounds, we will play off the walls
  • No offsides, all 4 field players can go anywhere on the field

  • Following goals, the goalie will clear the ball into play

  • Modified Checking. No Checking above the shoulders

7th/8th Grade Rules

  • Two 25 minute halves with a 2 minute halftime
  • Games will be played on a 60x40 yard field
  • All games are 6v6 (5 field players and a goalie)
  • No timeouts
  • No out of bounds, we will play off the walls
  • No offsides, all 5 field players can go anywhere on the field
  • Following goals, the goalie will clear the ball into play
  • Draws will only take place at the beginning of the game
  • Games can end in a tie
  • Fouls: Player who receives a yellow card has to get off the field and stay off for 1 minute. A new player will come onto the field.
  • Full checking

High School Rules

  • Two 25 minute halves with a 2 minute halftime
  • Games will be played on a 80x40 yard field
  • All games are 8v8 (7 field players and a goalie)
  • No timeouts
  • No out of bounds, we will play off the walls
  • Must hold 2 players back at the half way mark
  • Following goals, the goalie will clear the ball into play
  • Draws will only take place at the beginning of the game
  • Games can end in a tie
  • Fouls: Player who receives a yellow card has to get off the field and stay off for 1 minute. A new player will come onto the field.
  • Full checking

Additional League Details

  • All participants must be current US Lacrosse Members
  • Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated
  • Games will have official referees and scorekeepers
  • No parents are allowed to approach referees at any time. All issues must be addressed with League Director Maria Di Fato
  • Weekly standings will be sent to each team
  • Game photos will be taken and shared with each team

Equipment

  • All players must wear approved goggles/eye protection and mouth guards
  • Close fitting gloves and soft headware are permitted; no hard helmets may be worn except by the goalie
  • Sneakers or turf shoes must be worn. No cleats. 
  • Goalie must wear helmet, mouth guard, throat protector, chest protector, gloves, shoulder pads, arm pads and leg padding for the goalie. All protective devices should be close fitting, padded where necessary and not of excessive weight. All goalies must provide their own equipment
  • All teams must wear same color shirts, pinnies or jerseys on the field
