Press Release

Ardsley, NY- The WBA Lady Knicks have announced an agreement with the House of Sports to headquarter their basketball operation out of the Ardsley facility.  The Lady Knicks will now run all their practices, clinics, tournaments and administrative activities at the House of Sports.

Starting this November, the WBA Lady Knicks will officially kick-off their new home-base with a six week skills clinic on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Camps are scheduled for the upcoming holiday break and winter recess. In February, the Lady Knicks will begin their 29th season of competitive AAU basketball with all tryouts and practices taking place at the House of Sports.

Long considered as one of the premier youth basketball organizations in the New York Metropolitan area, the Lady Knicks are run under the direction of Founding Director Luke Vaccaro and Assistant Director Jerry Fioretti.  “We could not be more excited to house our operations at the House of Sports and believe this move positions the Lady Knicks to enhance our already successful program”, said Vaccaro. “It's not just the superior facilities that attracted us – an excellent management team led by Shane Coppola was the key.”

The House of Sports is a 100,000 square foot, state-of-the-art indoor sports facility offering both court and turf based programming.  On August 14, 2015, the House of Sports was acquired by American Skating Entertainment Centers, LLC (ASEC).  ASEC operates 17 sports facilities nation-wide from coat-to-coast.  The company also has strong Westchester County roots as they have owned and operated Westchester Skating Academy in Elmsford for over 15 years, and acquired the operation of the Playland Ice Casino in Rye in 2014.

“Since the re-launch of the House of Sports in August, our overarching goal is to be more inclusive for outside groups and organizations,” said Frank Lombardy, House of Sports General Manager. “We are very excited to have the Lady Knicks call the House of Sports their home, and hope this relationship reinforces our welcoming message to the community.”
