About Our Club Program

The House of Sports Volleyball Club program has been designed to deliver a top level volleyball experience.  The foundation of the House of Sports Volleyball program is based upon the following factors:

Top tier professional coaching

World-class practice facility

Weekly intensive team practices

Together, these factors create a fantastic atmosphere that offers our athletes an unrivaled learning experience and also allows our them to dramatically improve their on-court volleyball skills. We are committed to providing a platform to encourage this.

Program Details

$1695 for full season (payment plans available)

Practices begin December 1st through last tournament date (End of March)

2 mandatory: 90 minute practices per week

5 GEVA regional tournaments (to be determined in December when registration for tournaments are released)

Gear includes (2) uniforms jerseys, backpack/jacket and (2) t-shirts, warm up long sleeve shirt and sweatshirt

Director Of Volleyball/Coach

Alyssa Murray

Head Coach 

As Westchester native, Coach Murray began her volleyball career as four-year player at the setter position.  After graduating from Marist College, she started coaching youth volleyball as she returned to Westchester County.  Over the past two decades Murray has held volleyball leadership roles at the JV, Varsity and Club levels.  She is currently the Varsity Head Coach at The Ursuline School in New Rochelle as well as a teacher in Yonkers.  Since taking the Varsity position at The Ursuline School last year, the team has earned the title of League Champions two years in a row.   Coach Murray was the Head coach of two club teams at LHVA and has been at House of Sports for tis presently coaching at House of Sports.  She came to HOS with a wealth of knowledge in both teaching and coaching.  She is excited to continue to mold athletes and enhance skills and techniques on the court. 

Meet the Coaches

Elizabeth Millan

Head Coach 

Elizabeth Millan played for New Rochelle High school and graduated in 2006. She played defensive specialist and eventually became libero. She continued to play throughout college and still plays until this day. Elizabeth plays all year around from indoor 6s to grass quads and even beach doubles. In 2014, she became Pelham High School assistant coach and then took a season off after she gave birth to her second child. Elizabeth coached 5 years for LHVA and was the Developmental Coordinator. Today she continues to show the love for the sport by dedicating her time to the game all year around. This is her 3rd year  coaching for House of Sports, and she is very excited to teach and improve some skills for the upcoming season.

Kisha Diaz

 Head Coach 

Coach Diaz is a teacher in the Yonkers Public Schools and has been coaching with HOS for 3 years.  In addition to coaching club, she is currently in her 4th season as the assistant coach at The Ursuline School in New Rochelle. Prior to coaching at HOS, Coach Diaz was an assistant coach at Downstate Volleyball Club for the 18s National Team.  In addition to playing 4 years of high school and at The City College of NY, she also played in the NYC Urban League and local coed leagues. She has two daughters who’ve inherited her love of game and both have gone on to play collegiate volleyball at the Division 1 level.

Carmelo Cintron

Head Coach

“Carmelo Cintron commenced his coaching journey in 2015 when he volunteered his time coaching youth volleyball at the Police Athletic League. After several sessions, Carmelo saw the fruits of his labor, learning how crucial of a role coaches play in the development of athletes. In 2017, Carmelo transitioned to Big City Volleyball and began coaching both adult and youth classes. Shortly after, he became a head coach for their new Girls’ Youth League program, which offered inner-city youth an alternative to club volleyball and the opportunity to compete during the offseason. Furthermore, Carmelo served two years as the assistant varsity volleyball coach at the Dwight School. During his first year, Carmelo helped the Dwight Lions reach the finals in the Independent School Athletic League. 

Katie Barry

Head Coach 

As a Long Island native, Katie Barry played varsity volleyball at Sacred Heart Academy in Hempstead for 4 years until she graduated in 2016. She then went on to play for the next 4 years at Adelphi University, a Division 2 college in the NE10 conference, as a setter and right side hitter until she graduated in 2020. Since graduating, Katie has continued to play on the beach, grass, and indoor leagues, and has won multiple grass and beach volleyball tournaments this past summer. Throughout her career, she has coached at multiple levels, and most recently had the opportunity to work as a volunteer assistant coach at Division 1 St. Peter’s University in New Jersey. She is currently working towards receiving her doctorate in Physical Therapy at NYMC, and is extremely excited to continue to work with athletes at HOS. 

 

Regina Brown

Assistant Coach

I’m a Operations Supervisor for an American commercial real estate services firm. It is the largest company of it’s kind in the world. I have two daughters who played club for Downstate Volleyball Club on their National Teams (14Black-18Black)  and they both have gone on to play as starters, collegiate volleyball at Hamilton College and Wellesley College. My oldest coached volleyball at DSJ. This makes me a number one fan of volleyball. I am a motivator to all players and believe everyone is a champion and should always play like one!

Christina Mangiafreno

Assistant Coach

Christina Mangiafreno is a graduate of The Ursuline School in New Rochelle, and is currently enrolled in Iona college.  She has played volleyball for 8 years and has coach with House of Sports for two years as a club coach and coaches many of our volleyball clinics throughout the year. Christina had the role of setter and captain on Ursuline's varsity volleyball team, coached by Alyssa Murray. The team was awarded the league championship two years in a row. She has experience coaching youth volleyball at Annunciation Elementary School. She has a passion for volleyball and is excited about creating a positive, hardworking environment where her players can excel and have fun playing the sport. 

AngelaRosa Garofalo

Assistant Coach 

AngelaRosa Garofalo is a passionate coach who is going on her second year of coaching for House of Sports. She has been playing volleyball since 7th through high school and is currently playing on the Westchester community college volleyball team. Her passion for volleyball goes above and beyond and loves seeing it passed down to younger players who also have a deep love for the sport. She loves mentoring her athletes and watch them grow as players.

Karina Negron

Assistant Coach 

Karina Negron is a dedicated coach who had been with House of Sports for two years.  She played HS volleyball for Pelham Memorial High School and graduated from Manhattanville College in 2020. She played for Manhattanville College her freshman year.  Karina was always a team player and was a versatile player, who would play wherever her coach needed her to be. Her love for volleyball is endless and she has been coaching volleyball for 7 years. One of Karina's goals, is to be able to have the opportunity to give the younger generations something to be passionate about as well. The best moments for her is to see her players grow as athletes. 

Cassidy Blagman

Assistant Coach 

Cassidy Blagman is a graduate of Pelham Memorial High School. She is currently a junior at Manhattanville College. Cassidy majors in Sports Studies and Communications. Since Freshman year, she has taken stats for all sports teams at Manhattanville College. She recently became a coach at House of Sports and has assisted in running a variety of volleyball clinics. She grew up participating in charity volleyball tournaments and playing with friends. Other than volleyball, Cassidy has both participated and coached basketball and soccer. She is a dedicated coach who wants to encourage and influence young athletes to persevere and work hard.

Kaylin Nieves

Coach

Coach Kaylin has been playing volleyball for a decade. She started off playing volleyball at the age of 11 when she attended, Franklin D Roosevelt Academy as outside hitter.  Kaylin then switched positions to become a Libero when she entered high school at Murray Hill Academy HS.  She has been very active at many clubs and leagues throughout her volleyball career. After that she played a year in BMCC as a setter and libero.  A year ago, her coaching career started at Big-city volleyball where she coaches athletes ages 9-11, 12-16, and 21+. She has an extreme drive and passion for the game and loves to share her knowledge and skill with her students and help them become better athletes mentally and physically.

Thank you to Crown Trophy who has made all of our volleyball gear this 2020 club season.  Michael, the owner, has been great to work with and has accommodated us in a timely fashion.  All of our 2020 sports gear has been comfortable and looks amazing on our athletes.  We plan on continuing to build a relationship with Crown Trophy in Yonkers & New Rochelle in the upcoming years.
