Mission

It is the mission of the House of Sports Girls Lacrosse program to provide the leadership and culture to help committed and dedicated athletes achieve Competitive Greatness through developing the skills, behaviors, attitudes and mental toughness that will not only benefit them on the playing field, but life outside of organized athletics as well.

We understand that success and achievement can only be realized through hard work, determination and an elite level of attention to details.

Based out of our own facility in Ardsley provides us with game-changing advantages while running our 10 month program. We strategically combine a high-value training curriculum with a competitive playing experience in a stable, fun and supportive environment with the macro goal of helping players develop the same deep love for the game of lacrosse that we have.

"I told them, We give you scholarships, we give you stipends and meals and a place to live. We give you nice uniforms. I can't give you guts, and I can't give you heart. And tonight, it was BYOG: Bring your own guts!" ~ Dabo Swinney

At HOS, we give our players almost everything, you have to BYOG!

Philosophy

Great players make great teams more than great teams make great players!

All athletes want to win. But as legendary Alabama Football Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant said "It’s not the will to win that matters – everyone has that. It’s the will to prepare to win that matters."

And all athletes say they want to play at an "elite" level, but most don't; Why?

Coaches like to tell athletes, "you play like you practice." To then play at an elite level, you must train at an elite level. Elite level  training requires two nonnegotiable conditions- maximum effort at every given moment & an intense focus on the details.

There are no short cuts, tricks or secret drill to success. And there isn't a Coach or Club who can develop every player into a "superstar." There have been countless Hall of Fame Athletes whose own children have not duplicated their success.

Aristotle said "We are what we repeatedly do; excellence then is not an act, but a habit!" Performance and achievement come from the habits of being committed and dedicated to the attention to the details through hard work, grit and determination.

Our uniqueness is the Girls Lacrosse Program at House of Sports embraces these principles as they're at the foundation of everything we do. We provide all of the tools needed to help athletes gain a competitive edge. The athletes need to provide the desire, focus and effort.

System

At The House of Sports (HoS), we embrace and understand that developing individual skills and game IQ are the primary reasons to join Club Teams. The Club experience is expected to lead to improved performance and ultimately, interscholastic success. John Wooden coined the phrase "developing the Competitive Greatness of the individual athlete.

Under the leadership of Director Joe "CoJo" Frederick, the HoS Girls Lacrosse Program has quickly become one of the most dynamic & impactful programs in the region. CoJo has dedicated himself to studying and learning the greatest coaching minds in sports like Bill Walsh, Nick Saban, Dabo Swinney, Geno Auriemma in addition to Wooden who is arguably the greatest ever.

Wooden built the UCLA basketball dynasty using a 4-P model:
  • Planning
  • Preparation
  • Practice
  • Performance

By using traditional and non-traditional drills and training concepts, our curriculum provides age appropriate & position specific (Offense, Defense & Goalie) training to drive our players to perform at the highest levels.
